Summer Camp 2020 & COVID 19 Update
Good Afternoon Waves Family Members,
We hope everyone is staying healthy and safe during this unprecedented time. As we all get through this pandemic together we here at Waves Academy, know that not just our team & clients but our fellow community members will pull through this stronger and better than ever.
As of right now, we are set to operate this summer, but we will be keeping all of you informed if there are any changes to our programs. We are currently taking the proper precautions and protocols to follow in order to open for this summer 2020. We will employ the camp industry standards of the American Camp Association and the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control. All staff members will be trained on daily camp operations and health & safety protocols.
Below is a brief overview of just some of the changes that we are implementing into our Waves Academy camp programs this summer 2020:
*Camper drop off & pick up will take place from the parent or guardians vehicle. Each morning, a Waves manager and camp instructor will be greeting campers vehicles to take care of sign in, lunch orders & drop off.
*In order to eliminate large group crowding we will be assigning 1 instructor to 5 campers. This instructor will be the campers "surf guide" for the day or week at camp. We will do our best to place campers in groups with their friends and/or siblings.
*We will be utilizing a larger area on the beach in order to have more room for our new program.
*We will make sure campers are practicing good hygiene habits & regularly washing their hands throughout the day.
* Campers will have the option to either purchase a Waves rash guard or utilize their own rash guard for the program. We will not be providing free rash guards to be worn for the day.
*We will be selling Waves Academy SPF Face Shield Masks. These are perfect for avoiding too much sun and eliminating the spread of germs. Campers will not be allowed to wear these masks when in the water for safety precautions.
*Waves staff will be utilizing these face shields as well.
Please note, that these are just some of the many changes that we will be implementing into our programs to ensure the safety of all of our campers.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly at 561-843-0481.
We look forward to seeing all of our awesome campers this summer 2020!
